World of Learning Academy is Andrea Velandia’s dream come true. Just one year ago with countless support from her husband, Wilson Velandia, Mrs. Andrea opened the doors of her new school, and hasn’t stopped since. She has dedicated her life instructing herself on how to be an effective teacher by focusing on children’s individual needs and interests. She believes that teachers have an everlasting impact on children that shapes who they become as young adults and hopes that the education she offers at her school will positively influence the young minds that come through. World of Learning Academy offers an environment that fosters personal, academic and social growth with a touch of family values and traditions to teach children from the start strong principles to become quality adults. Mrs. Andrea is proud of her students, teachers and all the families she has the chance to work with.

 

 

Silke Angulo

With her patience and dedication, Silke Angulo wins the trust of all her students. She treats each child with special attention; catering to individual needs and personality traits makes her an asset to her classroom.  The Colombia native grew up in New York City and has been residing in Florida with her family since 2005. She feels that teaching gives her the opportunity to contribute to future generations and aspires one day to be a school director.

 

Kelly T. Garcia

Kelly Garcia began as an enrolling parent at World of Learning Academy in the summer of 2008. Her passion for writing and editing allowed her to work in the school office, while completing her studies at Florida International University. She now holds the position of Assistant Director and is responsible of administrative duties at the school, as well as developing the content material for the school’s website. Ms. Kelly is a dedicate mother and hard-worker, who is proud of working along with special teachers that are making an impact on many children’s lives, including her own. She values strong ethics, principles and friendship, and enjoys helping students around the school. Ms. Kelly aspires to work in television as a reporter and producer one day.


 

Angelica Witherspoon

Ms. Witherspoon brings lots of energy and a youthful spirit to her classroom. She believes that working with children is a virtue and requires unmeasured patience. Her biggest gratification is when her students embrace her and show that they look up to her and believe in her. Ms. Angelica aspires to one day take all of her experience and open her own daycare facility. Until then, she plans to continue working with children in a way that promotes personal and academic growth, taking the time to relate to her students in a way that she, too, can learn from them.

 


 

Jacqueline Ortiz

Jacqueline Ortiz is the lead teacher in the Preschool class, which is comprised of children three and four years of age. Besides following the school academic curriculum, Mrs. Jacqueline enjoys incorporating art and drawing as a method of engaging her students in lessons. With six years of teaching experience, she considers herself a loving, strict and responsible teacher, who enjoys impacting children’s lives through education. She takes pride in seeing some of her previous students embrace her even after they have left her class.

 

 

Maria Carmona

Ms. Carmona teaches preschool children at our school. Once she completes her degree, she aspires to continue working in a daycare environment because she values the importance teachers have on young minds. She considers herself a patient, funny and down to earth person, who enjoys fun subjects like Art to keep her students engaged.  Her greatest gratification is knowing that she will have a lasting impact on each child she teaches, even after they move on.

 

 

Mayda Palma

Ms. Palma is a great asset to our school. As a teacher in our Toddler classroom, she encourages children to explore and discover the world around them through song & dance, art, reading and enhancing vocabulary. Toddles, to her, are extra special and need caring role models to help them understand the world around them. Mrs. Palma incorporates cultural learning by introducing Spanish and French words through songs.

 


 

Vanessa Castaneda

Vanessa Castaneda has led the Voluntary Prekindergarten Program for the past three years. With a defined and well structured three-part curriculum, Mrs. Vanessa masters the task of preparing students for the important transition of entering kindergarten. She believes that her experience, together with the clear and specific curriculum implemented at her school, she offers a strong foundation for the next step in development both personally and academically for her students. She considers herself a dynamic, proactive, and hard working individual that enjoys her job as a teacher.
